In the morning Jim, Jonathan, David and Rita headed off to Lodi Garden, a beautiful garden in the middle of Delhi.
It was already well over 100 degrees by the time we left at 10 but we headed out anyway. It was the perfect weather for everyone to "strike a pose" (can you hear the song in your head?)
A beautiful green oasis in the city, with a number of mosques and tombs of previous maharajas and important leaders.
We walked around the garden for a couple of hours, stopping for an ice cream before we headed home. We stopped at the Kahn Market for a few fancy provisions (decent cheese, great mangos) and then took the Metro back home. Beautiful public transportation system. Trains were quiet, frequent, and clean. Some signs, etc. very clever.
Back to the apartment and out to dinner at the neighborhood vegetarian restaurant and then home to pack for our next adventure. Back to the airport in the morning for our trip to Udaipur…
Transcend space and time as you follow the not-so-newlyweds, Annie, and Miles on their timezone traversing and place-making adventures....
Where are we now?
View Where are we now? in a larger map Jo, Annie, Miles and I are living in Northport, Alabama and working at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. We've been glad to be in one place for a bit after what appeared to be semi-permanently traveling (in actuality for a period of 2.5 years). We started this blog to catalogue some of the adventures when Jo and I were sequentially conducting our dissertation research in India and Brazil. While we've fallen off the blogging bandwagon somewhat during recent trips to Brazil, we're trying to pick it up again now that we're back in India!
